Knowledge is Power

This program trains key community members to recognize and respond to family violence in an effort to ensure the overall physical, social, emotional and intellectual health of California children.  Seminars focused on large numbers of professionals and community members who are in contact with young children in order to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to take action to interdict family violence and assist in the development of a healthy family environment.

Audience members are trained to identify and report suspected abuse and be sensitive to the damaging effects of domestic violence, child abuse, and teen dating violence in the home. Early reporting of family violence is critical to the ability of a family to access the available resources as a means of preserving the health of the familyEducational seminars are 8 hours long and are taught by leaders in the field of family violence, teen dating violence and the effects of combat stress on the family.
